Amazon GOST Team (GO Security + Technology) concept execution. Non-Paid work for a friend’s Amazon team. A new team with minimal creative funding wanted help executing usable deliverables for a logo concept they had previously, this ghost squiggle mark. I re-drew it with pixel perfect spacing, added type and created a lockup locking in to Amazon’s brand standards, and produced the mark at multiple scales, lockup variations, and color variations in both EPS and png deliverables so the team could edit if needed and it could grow alongside them.

I usually don’t believe in unpaid work…
…but from the scope of this small project I could tell that I could make things really complicated or I could tell that it would be quick and fun for everybody. If I took it as a paid gig this would be dragged out, I’d have to rewrite a freelance contract that would have to be approved by the Amazon legal team and possibly rejected, there would be multiple rounds of revisions going up through political levels at the company until it turned into a project I was no longer interested in.
As GOST already had a mark and a concept I could tell that they didn’t want to see alternates or go through the usual design process I love to work with. If I executed it, provided some tight documentation, a quick and fun vector production execution, and made it into a system within a snappy 2 hours it would be done and I’d have this group of engineers’ respect forever and a free gin and tonic on my friend at their happy hours for all time. I knew that if I executed this little baby project that I’d be the first one they’d turn to in the future as they grow. Although just a small, basically production job, it is always fun to see a thing you did made in the real world.
